Thanks Gary. I think it's fair to say the HF coils are making quite an impact. I recall you commenting that the black coils will always have their place and the HF will change things on certain sites, but so far from what I am reading people having nothing bad to say. Then again most reports are bestowing the benefit on small targets. I would love to see some tests on bigger deeper targets and the kind of objects the coils were'nt really aimed at. It would be good to see if they held their own.

I am sure someone will cover that subject, let's not forget HF coils also run at 14khz so the option is there as an "All-rounder".
I think people are curious to see what the higher frequencies can achieve as it's a new concept for the Deus.

That's a good point, after all there is no point buying the HF and running at 14khz on previously hunted fields, I guess that defeats the object of investing in it.

Hello Mr B and Gary
I would like to make a couple of points.
The report from Adam Sadler is very good, but he has neglected to say which frequency he was using, so we don't know what kHz he used to achieve his good results?
Do you know the answer Gary?
Secondly Mr B, the report did say it found a small Venetian coin at 7" and a medieval mirror at 10" (mirror approx. 1.5 inch diameter). So those depths are not bad for a 9" coil.
Although they don't have any immediate plans for a larger HF coil, I am sure there will be one at some stage, as they did with the black coil. Then, hopefully it will achieve a little more depth.
Just my thoughts to ponder on :)

Adams settings
My favourite with the new coil is a variation of my HF program. Disc 5.3, 2 tone, 200/702, sens 80's or low 90's, 30 or 54khz, reactivity 2.5 or 3, silencer - 1, audio 5, iron vol 3. GB where we search is typically 72-82

I bought the HF because I wanted a smaller coil. The HF is the best of both worlds because of the frequency band as it finds large and small items and the depth penetration is better than I thought it would be. Personally I think it was a good all round investment and it's definitely expanded my find rate potential :)

Yes indeed these are good results, and all the more reason why I suggest we need to see some tests. Based on this report, and other comments I have read, there is evidence that the HF does what the black coil achieves and then more. Now I am not suggesting the black coils will be made obsolete, but when the HF coils were being announced, the impression was that they would be a specialist coil for certain sites. Many scoffed at them long before they were tried and made uneducated comments that they would "just be for gold hunters abroad" etc A lot of people are eating humble pie right now.

But the way things are going, and if the feedback continues in the same way, I can see the HFs becoming the main Deus coil, and possibly the blacks will be the specialist for the rare occasion that it can do something a little better !!

How long before we see a 12" coil with 7khz, 17khz 30khz, 50khz and lightning recovery speed. Game over?

Lol I mentioned months ago about a bigger 11" HF coil , Gary said no chance , it's like all things courses for horses , can you afford the HF coil, if yes I would recommend it all day long, those who are using nine inch black coil, go out with a friend who has HF coil and have a play and decide for yourself.
I have not seen any negative comments ref the new HF , and I myself love the new HF coil and had some fantastic finds, so looking forward to the crop coming off, I have started to dribble. :D
